What is a Semi-Natural Family?

Photo of meHave you ever considered going “all-natural”, or organic, or paleo, or gluten free, or really, anything else? Maybe you wanted to be healthier, maybe you wanted to rid your body of evil toxins, or just do your part to save Mother Earth. Maybe you just wanted to keep up with the trends.

Hey, I’m not here to judge.

But let’s be honest. It’s hard. Especially when you try to get your whole family on board. And even more so when you have a picky step-kid who only eats your food six days per month. And don’t forget the toddler who is down with eating dog food, but you better not try to feed her any human food without a pile of cheese on top!



We try to be healthy. We really do. But you guys… Junk food tastes good. My kids like macaroni and cheese, and I just can’t live without the occasional Dunkin Donuts iced coffee. It’s in my genes.

Despite all that, I still aim to learn about alternative solutions, keeping my family healthy, and saving money.

This is why I’m forced to live a “semi-natural” life.

Why does all of this matter to you? Well, If you’ve read this far, you’re probably at least a little like me. So read on friend!

I love learning. When I look into something, I don’t stop until I learn every single little detail about it. My husband will tell you the truth. Ask him. I’m on Pinterest all day. Sometimes until the wee hours of the morning. I also love sharing my knowledge. I’ve been told my gift is helping people, so help people I will.



I’m not an expert at anything, but I’ve dabbled in a lot. I worked in the beauty industry for 10+ years, I worked as a professional photographer for almost as many, I am an experienced graphic designer, I worked at a gym for 5 years and built learning relationships with some of the most educated and talented nutritionists and personal trainers. I’m a Christ follower. I’m a mom. I’m a step-mom. I’m a doggy mom. I’m a wife. My husband says I’m earthy crunchy, but I don’t think I have a ton of crunch. I’ve suffered from anxiety, depression, and PTSD and became better through all of it.

I want to share it all with you.
