I’ve been a terrible blogger the past few weeks.
But I have some big news to tell you….
We bought a house! Plus other stuff happened.
These past few weeks have been completely crazy. And I feel like my life is spinning out of control. There are just so many things happening and not enough time to fit them all into my life.
Let’s start at where I left off.
I told you guys I was going camping with the family and that I would have an amazing camping guide. I started working on said amazing camping guide. Then we found out we were closing on our house the day we got back from our camping trip, and that the sellers no longer needed a two-week rent back as planned. I had to put the guide on hold to finalize our home purchase and try to pack some things for the unexpected move. Then my back started getting significantly worse and it hurt to sit at the computer for more than half an hour at a time, or pack most things.
Luckily, I had some friends visiting in the area and I was able to meet up with them. I finally felt some relief after we all prayed together for my healing. Something nagged me all day to take one of the muscle relaxers that I had no interest in taking and didn’t think would work. But I took one. And it worked. I drove from Virginia to Massachusetts, about 12 hours including bathroom breaks and food stops, and didn’t have any pain or tightness. What a miracle!
I should have listened to God the first time he told me to just take my medicine.
I planned on working on my camping guide while I was camping. Silly me…
Ain’t nobody got time for that. Especially when you vacation near family, and bring a boy who has never been to the state. There’s so much exploring to do! (I’m going to tell you all about our fun eventually. I promise!)
After vacation, I drove home, 12 hours yet again. Pain free, yet again!
And the next morning we woke up and signed settlement papers on our house.
You guys, this house is perfect. The yard is massive. The storage is endless. We have trees big enough to climb in the front and back yard, and there is already a play set with a slide, swings, and a picnic table!
We’ve been moving our stuff since Saturday, but we still have a basement full of kid’s stuff, a kitchen full of dishes, and a living room floor with a bunch of random junk.
Perfect timing for the man of the house to go to a work conference for a few days, right? No.
So, with this big news, my head is spinning. I have so many ideas for things I want to write about, but I also don’t want to ditch the stuff I’ve been working on pre-“big news”.
Are you following me on Pinterest?! This will give you an idea of all the fun stuff yet to come. I have been pinning all the things!
What is your best tip about moving into a new home? I would love to hear your experience!
